Did democracy disappear? How could it be deepened?Democracy today seems to be a threat in every direction, but could democracy, along with its defenses, show the way to a better society? What would advanced democracy mean in theory, internationally, and locally?
The occasion is the launch of Teppo Eskelinen's book "Democracy as Utopia and its Counter-Strengths" (Counterweight). Emilia Palonen, a democracy researcher from Maunula, is discussing with Eskelinen. The event will be opened by Matti Ylönen, Doctor of Political Science, Member of the Board of Counterweight.
Teppo Eskelinen is a philosopher and social scientist specializing in political economy and development research.
