Description

Inclusive Journalism Initiative EU-New Zealand project

IJI – Inclusive Journalism Initiative: Reporting Europe and the Asia-Pacific. Project funded under the ICI Education Co-Operation Programme, Call for proposals EACEA/44/2012, Proposal 383854. The IJI project builds on experiences and contacts from earlier well-established networks which had implemented several successful projects. The IJI project builds to a large extent on contacts and partnerships established in an earlier EU-ICI-ECP mobility project, the Global Environmental Journalism Initiative (GEJI, 2008-2012) between European and Australian partners (Bacon et al. 2009). The IJI and GEJI projects have formed the basis for the project Europe and Australia in the World: Reporting Political, Environmental and Social Change (WORLDREP). The WORLDREP project—like GEJI and IJI—contains a substantial student exchange scheme combined with mobility incentives for academic staff, and includes the implementation of a dual degree scheme on the BA and BA Honours levels. The project participants also cooperate in research and scientific publication.
