Description
The twist of a coronal magnetic flux rope is an essential property, which is useful for constraining their size and location, and understanding their evolution. We commonly rely on a twist approximation simply computed from parallel current without factoring in the geometry of the flux rope. To address this, the magnetic field analysis tools (MAFIAT) Python software has been developed to compute the real geometrically-based twist of coronal flux ropes. Here we present the features of the recent initial release, its operation, its scientific relevance, and our plans for its future development.| Period | 15 Dec 2022 |
