Description

The lifelong connection with horses allows the horsemen in Tyva to approach their equines as individuals with personal qualities. The equines’ individuality is marked in the lexicon in relation to their: age, gender, exterior, behavior, specifics of movements, character, and habits. This paper studies a special part of the horsemens’ vocabulary that requires a knowledge of equine-persons which can be gained only in close and continuous multispecies interactions.
