Research objectives and hypothesis:
1) Transcriptional regulation of PPARγ and its coactivator PGC-1α is complex and less.There is little known about their expression in the brain and links to the GABA-ergic system.
2) We hypothesize that (1) PPARγ regulates GABARα2 and its signaling in the brain, and (2) PPARγ activators influence mitochondrial dynamics via PGC-1α and phosphorylation of DRP1.
