Description

The pre-conference workshop brings together researchers who work on themes around violence, its multiple and complex manifestations, structures of violence and ways to survive and transform traumatic experiences. Our aim for this workshop is to begin the process of creating a multidisciplinary anthology on innovative research approaches and methodologies on the configuration of gendered violences in processes, practices and everyday experiences. However, we aim to take research on violence beyond the the experiences of violent events and open discussion who each of us tackles the question on how to recognize agency in the midst of violence and how to account for the capacity for individuals and communities to transform traumatic experiences.
