In recent years numerous pipelines have been constructed on ancestral homelands of Native American tribal nations. This event presents Indigenous voices from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, US. Making their first-ever Finland appearance, the local Indigenous women tell their views on the oil pipeline and how it threatens their land and water, as well as desecrates their ancient burial and prayer sites. **** This extra-special event includes: Opening words by Dr. Irja Seurujärvi-Kari Video greeting by Antti Pentikäinen, special Envoy to the Prime Minister Speeches by LaDonna Brave Bull Allard, Sky Roosevelt-Morris, and Pearl Daniel-Means. A preview of the forthcoming documentary film "End of the Line: The Women of Standing Rock" by Shannon Kring.
