Description

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
________________________________________
The competitiveness of wood as a building material is constantly growing, as evidenced by both the technological possibilities and the general need to find solutions that promote climate neutrality.

While in other countries wood as a renewable natural resource, one of the most sustainable materials, the use of which is almost unlimited, is widely used in urban construction, in Latvia there is only a rough idea of the advantages of wood construction. Most of the wood products are exported to other countries, where wood construction is highly valued.

How to promote the use of wood materials in building construction in Latvia? In the future, could this sector occupy a significant part of the overall development of the Latvian economy?

How well informed is the public about the sustainability of wooden buildings and what can the state do to realize the potential of the industry, especially from a climate neutrality perspective?
