The Civilized and the Uncivilized

The editors of the Oxford Handbook of the History of International Law, Bardo Fassbender and Anne Peters, invited to attend a four day workshop in Interlaken, Switzerland, from January 19- January 23, 2011. The workshop provided a unique opportunity to discuss the preliminary findings of the articles and an excellent chance to meet experts from the various disciplines involved (history, international law, legal history, political science, philosophy). The discussions assisted contributors in preparing the final drafts of their papers and enhanced the coherence of the overall project.
