    Jari Lavonen: “A four-year-old child needs to play, not going to school”

    The dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Helsinki explains the keys of the Finnish success in the first International Symposium on Initial Teacher Training held in Barcelona on 18 and 19 February.

    Jari Lavonen presented at the Symposium aspects that have made the Finnish education system is one of the best rated in the PISA report. His vision of studies after personal interview.
    Lavonen also stressed that the key to success is trust in teachers and social education, as well as teacher training, focused the audience’s attention. He presented data as important as every year 3,000 applicants are presented for access to teaching faculty, of which only 300 exceed the exams, and 120 access value of education, since it is a matter of state.
