Dataset

Description

This dataset underlies the results of "Six million years of vole dental evolution shaped by tooth development" (Lafuma et al., 2025). It consists in measurements of first lower molars (m1) of adult specimens of extant and extinct species of Arvicolinae (Cricetidae: Rodentia), phylogenetic trees describing relations between the species included in the dataset (or subsets of these species), CT scan data for embryonic m1 teeth of bank voles (Clethrionomys glareolus) and domestic mice (Mus musculus), and data from in vitro culture experiments on bank vole (Clethrionomys glareolus) embryonic m1 teeth. Additional information regarding data creation, curation, processing, and subsequent analyses can be found in the original publication.
