Description
Biomedicum stem cell centre (BSCC) is a comprehensive provider of human pluripotent stem cell services at the Meilahti campus of the University of Helsinki. We provide locally derived human pluripotent stem cell lines and practical training for their culture. Most importantly, we can generate iPS cell lines from client provided somatic cells.
We have pioneering expertise in the derivation of human iPS cells using both integrating and nonintegrating methods. We have efficiently reprogrammed primary human skin fibroblasts, myoblasts, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells. Before iPSC induction can be initiated from patient cells, the client needs to obtain ethical approval for the experiment from the Coordinating Ethics Committee of HUS.
