Description
DNA-sekvenointiin ja genomiikkaan liittyvien tutkimuspalveluiden tuottaminen paikallisesti ja kansallisesti. Pääaktiviteetteina ovat DNA-sekvenointi, DNA-mikrosirut sekä edellisiin teknologioihin liittyvä bioinformatiikka. Palveluina yksikkö tarjoaa DNA-sekvensointipalveluita sekä perinteisillä kapil-laarisekvensointitekniikoilla että toisen (454, SOLiD, Illumina) ja kolmannen sukupolven (PacBio) laitteistoilla. Teemme myös DNA eristyksiä mikrotiterlevyformaatissa sekä muita tätä tukevia palveluita, joissa hyödynnetään robotiikkaa. Yksikkö valmistaa, kasvattaa ja organisoi suuria kloonikirjastoja. SNP tyypitystä voidaan tehdä käyttäen Illumina bead-menetelmää. Yksikkö on keskeinen palvelun tuottaja Viikin kampuksella genomiikan, funktionaalisen genomiikan, metagenomiikan ja integratiivisen biologian aloilla.
