The main research theme in the Plant Virology Group is to elucidate how plants defend against virus infections and how viruses circumvent or suppress host defence. Basic research forms the core of activities, an essential part of which is to educate young scientists to master multiple modern research methods and apply them to the study of molecular virus-plant interactions and pathogen resistance in plants.
