Organisation Profile

Plants are constantly challenged by their environment and for example lack of water or increased amount of air pollutants represent stress factors. Hence, plants use several defenses to overcome unfavorable growth conditions and successfully complete their lifecycle. In our group we focus on identification of molecular mechanisms activated by reactive oxygen species that contribute to defense signaling, ultimately leading to adaptation to abiotic stress. We use Arabidopsis mutants and natural accessions, combined with methods including quantitative trait loci and genome wide association mapping and gene expression analysis to find new regulators of stress responses.
