Personal profile

Curriculum vitae

I am a 6G Flagship Researcher at the University of Oulu, where I work on security of complex distributed systems and resource-constrained environments, distributed XR, and machine learning for constrained computing devices. I am also an affiliated member of Sarita Adve's ILLIXR research group at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

I am also interested in exploring how 6G can aid in achieving UN SGD goals from both, technical and economic angles.

I am responsible teacher for Internet of Things course at the University of Oulu. I welcome proposals/ideas for student (course/bachelor thesis/master thesis) projects, both short-term and long-term, on topics of IoT/Embedded Systems from the industry.

Prior to this, I was a Doctoral Researcher at the Systems and Media Lab, led by Professor Pan Hui, in the Department of Computer Science, University of Helsinki from 08 Feb 2018 to 07 Feb 2022. During my PhD, I worked primarily in the areas of Pervasive Computing and Multimedia Computing with a special focus on privacy and robustness. My PhD thesis title (submitted, under final examination) is Towards Trustworthy Ubiquitous Computing: Bringing Privacy and Robustness to Computing in Context.

My research has been supported by FICORE - Indian-Finnish Consortia for Research and Education, Nokia Foundation, HPY Research Foundation, and Walter Ahlström Foundation.
