I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oulu, working broadly in the following areas from software-hardware co-integration angle:

  • Internet of Things
    • Energy Efficiency
    • Environmental Sensing
    • Wireless Sensor Network
  • Distributed XR
  • 6G Software Architecture
  • Machine Learning Systems
  • Software-defined Battery
  • Software-defined Hardware Infrastructure

I am also interested in exploring how ICT can aid in achieving UN SGD goals, in particular goals of clean energy, clime action, sustainable cities and communities and quality education.

I am the responsible teacher for two courses: Internet of Things and Distributed Systems at the University of Oulu. I welcome proposals/ideas for student (course/bachelor thesis/master thesis) projects, both short-term and long-term, on topics of IoT/Embedded Systems from the industry.

Prior to this, I was a Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Computer Science, University of Helsinki from 08 Feb 2018 to 07 Feb 2022. During my PhD, I worked primarily in the areas of Pervasive Computing and Multimedia Computing with a special focus on privacy and robustness. I defended my PhD thesis titled Towards Trustworthy Ubiquitous Computing: Bringing Privacy and Robustness to Computing in Context on 20 December 2022 at the University of Helsinki.

My research has been supported by FARIA - Finnish-American Research & Innovation Accelerator, FICORE - Indian-Finnish Consortia for Research and Education, Nokia Foundation, HPY Research Foundation, and Walter Ahlström Foundation.
