Research interests

 

Regulation of photosynthesis in higher plants and eukaryotic algae. Energy metabolism and organelle functions and signalling under environmental stress in plants.

 

Education and degrees

 

2018: Docent in Plant Physiology and Molecular Biology. University of Helsinki, Finland.

 

2004: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology. Institute of Plant Physiology, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia.

 

2000: Master of Science. Honours Degree in Biochemistry. Department of Virology, Biological Faculty of Moscow State University, Russia.

 

Employment

 

2012 – currently: Senior post-doc in the group of Prof. Jaakko Kangasjärvi, Faculty of Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland. Stress responses and photosynthesis in higher plants. Retrograde signalling pathways, organelle redox regulation, transcriptional reprogramming. RCD1 and other SRO proteins in Arabidopsis.

 

2007 – 2012: Post-doc in the lab of Prof. Jean-David Rochaix and Prof. Michel Goldschmidt-Clermont, Department of Molecular Biology, University of Geneva, Switzerland. Regulation of photosynthesis in plants and green algae. Discovery of thylakoid regulatory protein phosphatase family.

 

2005 – 2007: Post-doc in the lab of Prof. Alexander V. Vener, Division of Cell Biology, Linköping University, Sweden. Proteomics and enzymology of plant chloroplasts: prolyl isomerization, phosphorylation and thiol redox chemistry of chloroplast thylakoid proteins.

 

2004 – 2005: Researcher in the lab of Prof. Dmitry A. Los, Department of Intracellular Regulation and Biotechnology, Institute of Plant Physiology, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. Signal transduction and osmotic stress in Synechocystis.

 

2002: Laboratory of Prof. Norio Murata, National Institute for Basic Biology, Okazaki, Japan. Functional genomics in Synechocystis.
