Description of research and teaching
My research interests focus on how the organic matter cycle is affected by environmental changes. Currently, I am studying the effect of Arctic sea-ice changes on the carbon cycling in high-latitude lakes. This research is part of the project funded by the Academy of Finland “SLEET, Beyond the shore: past sea-ice change and lake ecosystems in the Arctic”, and the methods include the analysis of paleoarchives combined with numerical analysis and modelling.
