Description of research and teaching
My core areas of interest are mental health, public health, sexual health, and gender and health. My work examines the interface of mental health and wellbeing in adolescents and young adults. I am particularly interested in mental health, eating disorders, ADHD, and autism. As a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine and a Gender, Sexual, and Relationship Diversity therapist, I have a broad understanding of human sexuality and gender diversity. I have also clinical expertise in treating psychological trauma, PTSD and c-PTSD. I have a strong interest in clinical and population epidemiology and gender issues. I have published several non-fiction books.
I am the director of the Doctoral Programme in Population Health and Human Behavior. I offer various courses for health professionals on mental health, sexual and gender health, research methods, and academic writing.
