Curriculum vitae

Anna is a pianist, music educator and doctoral student. She has studied piano performance in the Sibelius Academy as well as Middle Eastern Studies and Musicology in the University of Helsinki. After graduating as a Master from both universities she continued to pursue her PhD in University of Helsinki. Her dissertation topic is "The Audible Gender". She studies the construction of racial and gendered inequality and whiteness, as well as gendered and sexual misconduct, and abuse of power in the classical music scene in Finland. 

In spring 2020 Anna recieved a 4-year grant from the Finnish Cultural Foundation to pursue her doctoral studies full-time. Years 2020–2021 she was a visiting PhD student in the Utrecht University, NL, where she is participated in courses organized by the Netherlands Research School of Gender Studies.
