Description of research and teaching

My doctoral dissertation examines theological thinking of Palestinian bishop Munib Younan. This research is positioned as a part of the study of Palestinian Contextual Theology.

Primary source of my research is text material from the years 1986–2023, which I have collected from the archives in Jerusalem in 2019, 2022 and 2023, and in Geneva from the collections of the Lutheran World Federation and the World Council of Churches in 2023.

I have worked as a full-time grant researcher since March 2023, funded by the Research institute of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland (March 1, 2023-December 31, 2023 and March 1, 2025 - December 31, 2025), the Finnish Cultural Foundation (January 1-December 31, 2024 and January 1-December 31, 2026) and Finnish Institute of the Middle East and Ordo Sancti Constantini Magni of Finland (January 1 - February 28, 2025).
