Description of research and teaching

Dr. Annette Horstmann, PhD in neurobiology, is currently working as an Associate Professor of Behavioural and Brain Sciences, Department of Psychology and Logopedics, Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki. She is head of the O’BRAIN Lab, which investigates the interplay between the modern food environment and the brain.

Currently, her teaching includes courses and lectures about the modern food environment and the brain, neuroplasticity in adaptive and maladaptive conditions, and the impact of plasticity within the dopaminergic system on behavioural control, learning, and decision-making.
