Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

In my work as a postdoctoral researcher, I focus on analysing and modelling environmental politics and related decision-making processes as networks of relationships among individuals and collectives. I engage in conceptual development and empirical data analysis by applying network methods to data from conventional surveys, prestige newspapers, and Twitter. My work currently contributes to two ongoing projects: Scientific Knowledge and Political Networks in National Climate Policy (KONE Foundation) and Echo Chambers, Experts, and Activists: Networks of Mediated Political Communication (Academy of Finland).

I hold a PhD in forest economics from the University of Helsinki. I have published in international cross-disciplinary journals and been involved in case studies in Europe, Uruguay, Vietnam, Tanzania, and South Africa. I also engage in higher education at the university by organising the course Special Issues in Governance and Organisations: Political Networks. I am a member of the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science.
