Personal profile

Curriculum vitae

I am a doctoral student at the Global Development Studies unit of the Political, Societal and Regional Change doctoral programme of the University of Helsinki. My research examines how discourses and practices around women’s rights have been shaped and transformed with the proliferation of partnerships through a case study on Finland’s development cooperation in Kenya. This study aims to answer crucial questions on the impacts on women rights-holders of the increased role of private sector investments in Finland’s development cooperation for gender equality.

Besides my doctoral research, I work as a Research & Evaluation Specialist for the religion and inclusive societies team at the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) and I am part of the team working on the Religion and Psychosocial Support initiative. Before joining USIP, I worked as a consultant for the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Mission supporting the design and implementation of psychosocial peacebuilding initiatives in Colombia.

Between 2018 and 2020, I conducted research on migration and gender-based violence within the project “Violence against women migrants and refugees: analyzing causes and effective policy response” in collaboration with the Norwegian Centre for Violence and Traumatic Stress Studies (NKVTS). I have experience in research, project design, implementation and M&E in peacebuilding, migration, gender, psychosocial support and religious actors engagement fields.
