Docent of European history since 2009, Academy of Finland Research Fellow 2013–2018 and Principal Investigator of the project "Agents of Enlightenment" (Academy of Finland) 2017–2021.

Research fields: intellectual and cultural history of early modern Europe, nineteenth- and twentieth-century Finnish history, history of elites, history of cosmopolitanism, eighteenth-century and Enlightenment studies, opera.

Themes taught: cultural history, history of diplomacy, early modern history, Enlightenment.
