Personal profile

Curriculum vitae

I'm a crop scientist, currently doing postdoctoral research with double affiliation at the University of Helsinki and University of Jyväskylä.

At the University of Helsinki, I do research on strategies to improve caraway (Carum carvi L.) oil quality. Three approaches are studied: legumes as companion crops for caraway, nutrient foliar sprays and envirotyping. I also do research on strategies to improve biodiversity in the rural landscape, using cover crops and underutilized crop relatives.

At the University of Jyväskylä I do research on citizen level ecological compensation. The research is conducted at the intervention ecology research group. We have a multidisciplinary project called "Katoava luonto" (disappearing nature), where I do a varied range of research: on pollinator abundance on allotment gardens, transformation of lawns into meadows and choice experiment to assess citizens preferences for voluntary biodiversity offset actions.
