January 2012 - August 2012: University of Helsinki Research Foundation grant

I have been awarded a four years position at VGSB graduate school starting from January 2011, as a Research Group Funded student. This position gives me the same benefits as the other students of the Viikki Doctoral Programme in Molecular Biosciences, but the school is not paying my salary.

[1]    cum Laude is a special recognition which is awarded when the final grade is the maximum possible (110/110), and when both the academic curriculum and the final discussion of the thesis are outstanding.

Description of research and teaching

I am interested in neurotrophic factors, especially in GFLs. My research has been focusing on GDNF and NRTN, the importance of their post-translational modification and heparin-binding properties.
