Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

In my PhD-project I am comparing the impact of continuous-cover forestry and rotation forest management on soil carbon storage. By assessing the stability of soil carbon and the microbial communities involved in carbon cycling I want to get insights on the effect of the forest management regime on the potential long-term carbon storage in the soil. I am conducting field-studies in boreal spruce and pine forests in central Finland.

Prior to my Master's studies at the University of Helsinki (2017-2019) I worked for several years as a forest district manager for the German forestry company Thüringen Forst and as a research assistant at the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development.
