Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

My PhD-project aims to compare the impact of continuous forestry and rotation forest management on soil carbon storage. By assessing the stability of soil carbon and the microbial communities involved in carbon cycling I want to get insights on the effect of the forest management system on the potential long-term carbon storage in the soil. I am conducting field-studies in boreal spruce and pine forests in central Finland.

Curriculum vitae

Prior to my Master's studies at the University of Helsinki (2017-2019) I worked for several years as a forest district manager for the German forestry company Thüringen Forst and as a research assistant at the Eberswalde University of Sustainable Development.
