Doctoral researcher, physics and chemistry teacher 

I work as a physics and chemistry teacher at the Teacher Training School of University of Helsinki. Teacher Training Schools are specialized in supporting the pre-service teachers’ learning from practice. As an essential part of my job, I work as a mentor teacher in which I support pre-service teachers to transform practical knowledge into professional knowledge through reflective activities and guided discussions in small groups. 

One important aim in teaching practice is to emphasize a theory–practice relationship and make teacher education coherent. My dissertation work deals with science teacher education coherence in terms of integration of theory and practice. I am also interested in the development of pre-service teachers' pedagogical content knowledge (PCK) as part of coherent science teacher education.
