The Biological Physics group led by Ilpo Vattulainen utilizes computational biophysics and scientific computing to promote health and understand biological processes, focusing on high-impact projects that are integrated with experimental research. The group develops new techniques for multi-scale simulations and data analysis (AI/ML). The research topics mainly deal with membrane receptors, lipids, protein function, viruses and signaling, with the aim of elucidating the mechanisms of diseases such as viral diseases, cancers and dry eye syndrome.
