Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

Doctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, in the University of Edinburgh and University of Helsinki Partnership Programme on Forests, and TreeDLab.

My focus is on remote sensing of boreal forests to improve our understanding of forest structure and related ecological and microclimatological processes. In my PhD I use terrestrial laser scanning and temperature and moisture measurements in combination with microclimate modelling to study how forest management affects microclimates in Northern forests. The future aim is to model how climate change and forest management together affect future microclimates in the boreal region.
