Research interests

How animal behavior has changed over evolutionary timescales is a fascinating question. What are the structures and regulatory processes that underly such change? What eco-evolutionary dynamics facilitated it? I work on these questions by investigating the genetic/genomic/neuronal basis of rapid color change behavior in colorful fishes (cichlids) in the Integrative Evolutionary Biology (IEB) lab.
