Curriculum vitae

I am a doctoral researcher in marine biology and my research focuses on blue carbon in the Baltic Sea. In my current work in CoastClim reserach group, I combine field surveys and experimental approaches to find out what is the climate change mitigation potential of the very shallow coastal ecosystems.

I have a strong background in both marine ecology and physical oceanography from my MSc and BSc at the University of Helsinki. From my previous jobs both in environmental consultancy and the academia, I have gained lots of experience in and passion for various measurement methods and techniques in marine science and project management.

In my free time, I enjoy train travel and ocean-related activities, such as surfing. In the future, I’d like to combine my interests in marine biology and physics to study long-term changes in the marine environments and bridge the gap between science and the society through collaboration with private sector and citizen science projects.
