Description of research and teaching

My research interests focus on forest economics, especially water protection in forestry. I study how forest management affects water quality and other ecosystem services in both mineral soils and peatlands. In my work, in addition to sustainable forest management, I analyze forest industry and climate policy instruments promoting sustainable forest-based bioeconomy. Currently, I study behavior of forest owners related to management of peatland forests and associated water protection.
