Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

My research focuses particularly on the institutions and politics of money, finance, and investment. In my doctoral dissertation, I study the international rules on capital flows and financial account policy, and especially their changes in the 2010s and 2020s. Before my doctoral studies, I completed a Master of Social Sciences in Global Political Economy at the University of Helsinki and a Master’s degree in Political History at the University of Turku. In the 2024–2025 academic year, I was a visiting researcher and Fulbright scholar in the Global Political Economy project at Georgetown University.

I have taught the following courses at the University of Helsinki:

  • Introduction to Global Political Economy (spring 2026 & 2025)
  • Inequalities, Growth, and Capital in the 21st Century (autumn 2025)
  • Praktimum of Societal Change (introductory course to the study of social, political, and economic change, autumn 2023 & 2022)
