Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

I studied my degree in Biotechnology at the Polytechnic University of  Valencia and University Autónoma of Barcelona, Spain, from 2009 to 2013.

I joined the University of Helsinki and the Neurogenomics laboratory and started my Master Thesis Project in September 2013.

My research is divided into two specific sub-projects: On one hand, I am involved in the validation by qPCR of homologous human genes that are candidate genes for anxiety disorders. This is a part of a larger Hovatta’s Group project, focused in the identification of candidate networks that regulate anxiety.

On the other hand, I am carrying out a screening of inflammatory profile in first episode of psychosis patients in order to find an association between inflammatory blood markers and white matter deficits typically related to schizophrenia.
