Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

My research interests are e.g. interactional sociolinguistics, multilingualism, and linguistic perceptions.

I am a post doctoral researcher (June 2020 - May 2022) in the Academy of Finland project at the University of Oulu Linguistic and Bodily Involvement in Multicultural interactions. I am also a visiting scholar at the University of Helsinki. Before that worked as a post doctoral researcher at the university of Helsinki in a project called Hundred Finnish Linguistic Biographies (funded by Kone Foundation). I have also carried out one year project on interaction of the older adults in a care home. I studied how especially embodied interaction works as an essential part of facilitating communication.

In my PhD I studied use of Finnish among Ingrian-Finns in St Petersburg and its surroundings. I discussed questions of multilingualism, linguistic choice and perceptions as well as using different resources in everyday interaction.
