Research interests

Dr Kleemola is the academic coordinator for the Finnish Teacher Education Forum. Dr. Kleemola’s academic activities are centered around the concept of a diverse university. Her research focuses on inequalities in educational paths leading to university, emphasizing equitable access and success for students from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities and varying socioeconomic statuses. Key themes in her research include educational inequalities, student diversity and inclusion, critical thinking and sense of belonging. Dr. Kleemola employs a multidisciplinary and multimethod research approach, intersecting Educational Sciences with Sociology, Psychology and even Linguistics.
