Description of research and teaching

'Rights Conflict: Freedom of Artistic Expression v. Morals'

There are three main themes considered in the research: conflict of rights, artistic expression and public morals.
In the first part of the research I am analysing how the conflict operates, what ways to resolve the paradox exist and how they are applicable in the context of the conflict at study.
The second part of the research becomes more concrete and illustrative, engaging with the freedom of artistic expression.
The third part concerns the sphere of morals. With the analysis of the European Court of Human Rights case-law I am scrutinising judges’ reflections on art through their own moral prejudices. This analysis will use a doctrine of margin of appreciation, widely used by the Court in the relevant case-law.
