Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

My research interests include animal welfare and behaviour, in particular rest, sleep and sickness and pain behaviour. I am currently supervising PhD students on projects investigating cognitive abilities in dogs, pain behaviour in calves, factors affecting rest and sleep in horses, the effectiveness of animal welfare enforcement and crimes against animals, and the visibility of animal welfare enforcement in social work.
