Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

My research aims to find Quaternary timescale solutions for the Earth and its people. I am particularly interested in the long-term interplay of northern climate and nature. My current research focuses on land-water and atmosphere-land interactions, sea ice and hydroclimate changes, aquatic carbon cycling, and deep time functional biodiversity. I use empirical data from natural archives (lake and marine sediments) and ecosystem surveys (sediment traps, monitoring infrastructures, field campaigns) combined with numerical analyses and modelling.
