Description of research and teaching

I develop new optogenetic tools and photoactivatable biosensors controlled by near-infrared (NIR) light. Due to the high penetration ability of NIR light in mammalian tissue these tools hold great potential for non-invasive control and visualization of cellular processes in live organisms with high spatial and temporal resolution.
