Description of research and teaching
In my doctoral dissertation, I examine European conservatism by analysing the political philosophy of Joseph de Maistre and his paradoxical relationship with universalism and pluralism.
My focus has been on intellectual history and political philosophy. I am interested in political ideologies, their interrelations, and their philosophical and historical formation. My special interests include universalism, political rationalism, the Enlightenment, the Counter-Enlightenment, polarization and the French revolutions.
