Curriculum vitae

I am a university lecturer at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Social Science. My interests include

  • computational social science
  • critical investigations, such as validity, reliability and practices of computational social science
  • integration of social science theory with computational social science methods
  • design research and human-computer interaction as research methods
  • pedagogy of computational social science
  • digital democracy
  • novel technology-enhanced environments that support participation
  • political power and digital systems, including critical algorithm studies
  • deeper theoretical and methodological integration between political science and human-computer interaction research (Political HCI)

I am also a member of the Digital Content Communities research group (Department of Computer Science, Aalto University) and Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT.

I have a PhD in computer science and a Master's in social science. My personal website has more up-to-date info.
