Personal profile

Description of research and teaching

My academic background covers social sciences, management and natural sciences. I completed my doctoral work in 2012 (September) from the University of Helsinki. For my doctoral dissertation, I developed a service delivery system for the children’s practitioners in general.

My international teaching experience includes under-and post-graduate teaching and supervision, face-to-face courses, covering sociology, social and public policy, social work, field research, societal acceptability, renewable energy community, management, circular economy, and qualitative research methods. I am in a privileged position to offer well qualified and time tested experience in academic teaching and scholar mentorship, imbibed with international awareness gained in Bangladesh, Finland, Brazil, Malaysia, Norway, Taiwan, and Egypt (American University in Cairo). My future input to the institution would have no less to bank upon than 5 single semester courses in addition to 3 full year courses at five different institutions.

Since 2011, I have been delivered many guest lectures on fieldwork, social acceptance, social work, social and public decision making, management, energy economics, child welfare, street children, sustainability science, renewable energies and circular economy at different renowned institutions in a set of diverse countries and challenging education environments

I conducted postdoctoral research (2012-2015) in –‘biomass supercritical water gasification integration with CHP units - Definition of novel social & political constraints for enlarged multi-objective optimization’ project supported by the Finnish Academy, at  Aalto University.  Since 2015, I also acted as the principal investigator (2015-2017) of New Energy Finnish Academy funded project  at Helsinki University.  During my renewable energy and sustainability research projects activities, I have been developing societal acceptance renewable energy model that considers right social and public policy measures in the context of sustainability science. I am the founding program coordinator of a scientific Social Acceptability Study (SAS) Network, at School of Engineering, and a founding member of a research community-W2, at School of Chemical Engineering, Aalto University.
