Description of research and teaching

In my multidisciplinary doctoral dissertation, I examine pedagogical competence in the pastoral profession in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The research is situated in the fields of religious education, adult education, and philosophy of education. I am interested in how the ever-changing operating environment and the competence requirements of today's working life affect the future of the church and, in particular, the pastoral profession.

I am also familiar with the recent history of the Catholic Church. I follow closely current developments in the church and, in particular, the actions of the Pope. Hopefully I will be able to focus more on these themes in the future.
