RESEARCH INTERESTS

My main research interests lie in personality psychology. I am interested in examining the role of temperament and personality in well-being and health, especially cardiovascular health and depression. My studies aim to examine how early temperament and childhood conditions are related to the development of personality and how these factors predict health problems and factors related to social well being (e.g. social exclusion). In this context, acute and chronic stress become relevant subjects of study as well. One important direction of my research is examining genes and gene x environment interactions underlying personality development and disease processes. I am also interested in school-related issues and what kind of role temperament and personality play in school setting.
