Personal profile

Research interests

I am a senior researcher at the Folkhälsan Research Center, Co-PI of the FinnDiane Study Group, and in charge of our genetic and bioinformatics research. I am interested in the computational genetics, bioinformatics, and their application on diabetic complications, with a special interest on diabetic nephropathy. My technical education and doctoral studies at the Aalto University provide a sound basis for the large scale genetic data analysis, whereas my work at the FinnDiane study group has taught me to understand the clinical side of diabetes and its complications.
