Description of research and teaching

Raimo Hakola (Th.D., Docent) is senior lecturer in New Testament studies, in the Faculty of Theology at the University of Helsinki. He has specialized in the Gospel of John, the portraits of the Pharisees in the New Testament, and ancient Galilee. He has applied social psychological social identity approach in many publications. From 2010, he has participated in the archaeological excavations at Horvat, Kur Galilee, Israel. The excavations are conducted by the Kinneret Regional project, and Hakola is one of the co-directors of the excavations.
