Personal profile

Research interests

I'm studying young people's identities, mindsets, resilience, and experiences of belonging and othering, as well as the prevention of radicalization and extremism in and through education (PVE-E). I'm especially interested in the way the (dis)satisfaction of basic psychological needs is related to negative developmental processes, such as radicalization. My colleagues and I have developed the internationally recognized REDI model and guidelines for PVE-E in Finnish education.
